Farmhouse in Malta

The entrance to the farmhouse/villa leads into
a large, very spacious and naturally lit open plan
room. As with most houses, the sitting and dinning
room is the centre of activity. The kitchen remains an
integral part of Farmhouses in Malta.

This was even more so with traditional Maltese and Gozitan farmhouses/villas.
With this in mind Maltese farmhouses/villas were designed so that most rooms were accessed from this one room. The size and thickness of both internal and external walls was always due to minimalise the effects of Malta's summer heat, and the effect is quite remarkable.

As with all areas of this farmhouse/villa, every effort was
made during the conversion to try to retain as many
original features as possible. This room in particular is
a success storey, which includes traditional alcoves and
floors. Naturally enough for an old farmhouse/villa, built
before the joys of modern convenience, natural light floods the room. this as well as all the other features and gives all visitors a feeling of complete relaxation. The choice of electrical lighting simply mirrors the day time effect.

The dinning area is next to the kitchen and is well laid out,
even though most people prefer to eat outside, if Malta's sun gets too much, there is an alternative.
The sitting area is comfortably furnished and can easily accommodate up to 10 people. There is a stereo and T.V - with local channels.

Leading off this room are two large south facing French windows, which lead directly to the patio and swimming pool area.
